Entries are rolling in for the second annual Reel Peach Fest filmmaker contest.

With three weeks left to go there is still time for filmmakers to submit their films highlighting the hidden gems of Penticton and Wine Country.  The films will be featured on the main stage of Peach Festival each evening during the entertainment portion.

Entrants will also have the opportunity to have their work showcased by Tourism Penticton through their upcoming social media campaigns.

“Tourism Penticton is thrilled to be involved again this year as a sponsor. What a creative way to showcase our area through so many different lenses.  There will be a fan favourite category and voting will be online so be sure to pick your favourite at ReelPeachFest.com,” said Kelly Hopkins, Executive Director of Tourism Penticton.

With over 5,000 people in attendance each night at Peach Festival, there is opportunity for great exposure for a budding filmmaker or up-and-coming star. Filmmakers can submit one to three-minute commercials or short films in one of two categories.

Liquid Libations: any commercial or short film concerning Okanagan wine, craft beer, distillery, cidery or juice/soda.

Okanagan Experience: any commercial or short film showcasing an Okanagan experience including arts, culture or tourism.

Prize money for first place is $1,000 and also includes a Penticton weekend getaway courtesy of the Penticton Lakeside Resort and Convention Centre

Prize money for second place is  $500, third is $250 and fan choices rake in $500.

Submissions are to be family friendly — TV commercial content (no nudity, swearing, excessive violence, etc.)

The festival entry deadline will be July 31. For more information visit www.reelpeachfest.com.
