Craig Thomas (front) and Charles Matheson of Franklin Industries sand a section of the recital hall hardwood floor at the Shatford Centre this week as part of the ongoing upgrade of the faciity. Doing clean up work in the background is volunteer Marty Godsmark from the Pentastic Jazz Festival, who have booked the room as one of the venues for the upcoming festival, spurring the centre to move ahead with restoring the floor, which is made of eastern maple and original to the 1911 building.
