Jan. 8 — Miles Kereluk plays Cannery Brewing Co. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. No cover charge.

Jan. 15 — Jeremy Head plays Cannery Brewing Co. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. No cover charge.

Jan. 19 — Grandmothers for Africa host the Penticton Thursday Nite Jazz Band at the Barking Parrot at 7:30 p.m. All proceeds go to Stephen Lewis Foundation. Tickets are $15 at the Lakeside Resort front desk.

Jan. 20 — Friday night live at Medici’s Gelateria and Coffee House in Oliver. Doors at 7 p.m.

Jan. 21 — Jazz in January features three big bands. The Pen High Junior Jazz Band, Senior Jazz Band and the Thursday Nite Jazz Band with all ticket sales support the Pen High music program.

Jan. 24 — Blue Rodeo with special guests Ron Hawkins and The Do Good Assassins perform at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Jan. 22 — Aaron Goodwin plays Cannery Brewing Co. from 6 to 8 p.m. No cover charge.

Jan. 28 — Kyle Anderson CD release dinner and concert at The Nest and Nectar. Tickets $40 (seniors $35) for show and buffet dinner. Tickets available at Nest and Nectar.

Feb. 4 — Alfie Zappacosta returns to the Shatford Centre to benefit Penticton Secondary music programs. Tickets $25.

Jan. 6 — First Fridays open mic at the Penticton Art Gallery.

Jan. 7 — Karaoke at the Naramata Pub and Grill from 9 p.m. to closing hosted by Yanti.

Jan. 9 and 10 —Harold Johnson, author of Firewater: How alcohol is killing my people (and yours), comes to Okanagan College for two nights. This event is free to attend.

Jan. 10 — The Penticton Tune-Agers chorus practices from 9 a.m. to noon at the Shatford Centre.

Jan. 12 — The Penticton Tune-Agers orchestra practices from 10 a.m. to noon at the Shatford Centre.

Jan. 13 — Soirée Expérimentale, a showcase of local artists working in music, poetry and performance at the Penticton Art Gallery. Entry $10 or pay what you can.

Jan. 16 — The Okanagan Beard Festival returns with registration night at Cannery Brewing Co. from 6 to 9 p.m. in the tap room. Registration is $25.

Jan. 19 — Kitchen Stove Film Series presents: Marguerite at Landmark Cinemas.

Jan. 18 to 21 — Broadway Musicals In Concert: Part Two comes to the Penticton Lakeside Resort presented by Soundstage Productions.

Jan. 20 — Three new exhibitions open at the Penticton Art Gallery. Re:Claiming the Taken, Clayton Gauthier’s Salmon Run, Joy Munt: Rain, Steam, Speed. Free event, prayer and cultural showcase at 7:45 p.m. Cash bar and light snacks.

Jan. 21 — Join the Penticton Scottish Festival Society for an evening in celebration of Robbie Burns at the Copper Mug Pub. Tickets $30.

Jan. 21 — Local wine, spirits and craft beer collide with local restaurants for Palette of Penticton at the Penticton Seniors Centre. Silent auction and 102 bottles of Canadian wine up for grabs. Tickets $35.

Feb. 1 — Cathy Jones of This Hour Has 22 Minutes fame brings her one-woman show, Stranger to Hard Work, to the Cleland Theatre.

Feb. 2 to 25 — Many Hats Theater Co. presents Maggie’s Getting Married.
