As the General Manager of one of Penticton’s largest employers, Brannigan Mosses manages up to 300 employees at the Penticton Lakeside Resort and Conference Centre and has successfully navigated the Resort through challenges such as COVID-19 restrictions, wildfires, highway landslides, and economic uncertainty. Despite these challenges, Brannigan’s leadership ensures an outstanding experience for guests and a great working environment for team members. It is with pleasure that Kettle Valley Memorial and the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce announce Brannigan Mosses as a Top 40 recipient.

Brannigan’s experience in hospitality started in Edmonton where she gained skills in project and revenue management, operations, marketing, sales, and guest services. After graduating from the Hospitality and Tourism program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, she moved to the Okanagan and earned her certification with the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada. Using those credentials, Brannigan started a wedding planning business which she operated until the birth of her first child five years later.

After serving as Lakeside’s Director of Sales and Marketing for eight years, Brannigan spent three years as the Assistant General Manager before moving into her current position. She consistently focuses on creating a positive experience for guests by promoting a healthy workplace culture. The Lakeside regularly holds staff training and development sessions, resulting in a highly skilled and motivated team. When asked what it’s like to work at the Resort, one employee responded, “It’s like spending time with one big extended family. Hard work does not go unnoticed, and we are always provided with opportunities to grow and advance.”

Brannigan places a strong emphasis on being a responsible and innovative corporate citizen. The Resort has implemented several sustainable practices, such as geothermal heating and cooling, collecting, and repurposing oil, using well water for irrigation, and composting organic material. These efforts all reduce the Resort’s environmental impact.

In addition to their sustainability initiatives, The Lakeside has spent the past 10 years hosting the United Way’s Drive-thru breakfast, helping to raise funds for community organizations. The Resort is also a leading fundraiser for Canada Day’s fireworks celebrations and fully funds the New Year's Eve firework display.

Taking the time to get know her employees’ strengths, motivators, and highlights of their personal life is something Brannigan does that creates loyalty and ensures that her team members are taking pleasure in what they do.
