The Thanksgiving long weekend has arrived.

Here's what's happening in the Penticton area from Oct. 11 to 14:

Haunted Halloween Trail in Kaleden (Oct. 11 to 13)

The Sagebrush Ranch in Kaleden is back for the second weekend in a row to host its annual Haunted Halloween Trail.

Bookings are available through each of the three days.

Spider Alley, Pirates Cove, and Lollipop Lane are among the trails people can expect to visit.

Penticton Beer Week (Oct. 11 to 14)

Festivities for the sixth annual Penticton Beer Week continue this weekend.

Headlined by Oktoberfest at Abandoned Rail Brewing on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., events are scheduled at each of Penticton's eight breweries all weekend long.

Penticton Vees host Salmon Arm (Oct. 11)

The Vees (5-1-0-0) are back at home this weekend when they host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (4-1-1-) at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.

After Friday's showdown, the Vees won't be back on home ice until Oct. 26.

Run for Hunger in Penticton (Oct. 12)

Community members are set to gather Saturday morning for the Run for Hunger, in support of the local Salvation Army food bank.

People are encouraged to run, bike, or walk for four kilometres, starting at the Penticton Rose Gardens.

Event organizers have announced the following start times: 9 a.m. for families and strollers, 9:30 a.m. for kids aged 5+ and 10 a.m. for everyone else. 

Farmers' Market for the long weekend (Oct. 12)

Take in the Penticton Farmers' Market on Saturday morning, as the season's end inches closer.

Set for 100-block of Main Street in downtown Penticton, the market is expected to welcome around 80 vendors to the city this weekend.

Its final day of the season is set for Oct. 26.

Thrash Wrestling returns to Penticton (Oct. 12)

Live wrestling action returns to the Luso Canadian Portuguese Club on Winnipeg Street.

An open challenge main event is expected to headline festivities on Saturday night.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show set to start at 7 p.m.

Aaron Loewen performs at Cannery Brewing (Oct. 13)

An "exciting and stylish style of retro jazz" is being promised this Sunday when musician Aaron Loewen plays a free-of-admission show at Cannery Brewing.

Show runs from 5 to 7 p.m.
