Stadium lights unveiled at Penticton Youth Park (Oct. 18)
Penticton Youth Park, the third-largest skate park in B.C., will soon have its new stadium lights on display for the first time on Friday.
The city is hosting a light-up event at the facility from 5 to 7 p.m., to mark the project's completion.
Friday's ceremony will feature a DJ, food trucks, skateboarding, BMX biking and a basketball showcase.
The city says representatives from local bike and snowboard shops will be at the event to take part in the open-skate showcase.
Grab a taste of downtown Penticton (Oct. 18 to 20)
Select restaurants in downtown Penticton are participating in a special event this weekend to promote the city's vibrant culinary scene.
Local businesses will be offering specials from Friday to Sunday, and be joined by roaming musicians set to play at multiple venues.
Organized by the Downtown Penticton Business Improvement Association, people are encouraged to share their experiences on social media for a chance to win a one-night stay at the Penticton Lakeside Resort, paired with $200 in restaurant gift cards, offering an unforgettable dining experience.
B.C. General Election (Oct. 19)
The 2024 provincial election is on Saturday.
Voting runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Business Excellence Awards (Oct. 19)
The 37th Penticton Business Excellence Awards are set for Saturday night.
Finalists in 10 different categories will gather with family and friends inside the Penticton Lakeside Resort's east ballroom.
The title of the event is “A Luminous Night of Celebration — Shining a Light on Business and Community Leaders."
Okanagan Symphony Orchestra at Cleland Theatre (Oct. 19)
The Okanagan Symphony Orchestra brings "Holst & Mozart" to the local theatre on Saturday night.
Show runs from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Haunted Halloween Trail in Kaleden (Oct. 18 to 20
The Sagebrush Ranch in Kaleden is back for the third weekend in a row to host its annual Haunted Halloween Trail.
Bookings are available through each of the three days.
Spider Alley, Pirates Cove, and Lollipop Lane are among the trails people can expect to visit.
