The Brooks Bandits and Penticton Vees meet at the South Okanagan Events Centre on Saturday night, Nov. 2.

The second last month of 2024 has arrived.

Here's what's happening in Penticton from Nov. 1 to 3:

Halloween-themed roller skating (Nov. 1)

The Penticton Trade and Convention Centre is set to host some family fun on Friday, as it celebrates Halloween.

A spooky roller skating event comes to the venue from 5 to 7 p.m.

The event will feature a costume contest, photo booth, Halloween treats and DJ.

While the skate is for all ages from 5 to 7 p.m., an additional 16+ event is planned for 7 to 9 p.m.

Vees host pair of Alberta squads (Nov. 1 and 2)

The Penticton Vees are at the South Okanagan Events Centre for two games this weekend, as they host the Blackfalds Bulldogs on Friday and Brooks Bandits on Saturday.

Puck drop on Friday is at 7 p.m., while Saturday's showdown — a matchup between the Interior Conference's top two teams — is set to begin at 6 p.m.

SOWINS' 1st annual gala (Nov. 2)

The South Okanagan Women In Need Society hosts its inaugural fundraising event, Inspiring Hope, on Saturday night.

Presented by Penticton Foundry, the event is sold out and set to take place at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.

Saturday's event will also feature a champagne reception with appetizers and live music from Kelowna's Anna Jacyszyn.

SOWINS is a Penticton-based non-profit that serves women, children, youth, and families facing abuse and violence.

Massive fundraiser in support of South Okanagan SPCA (Nov. 2)

An annual fundraising event that has raised $125,000 for the local SPCA in seven years returns to Penticton this weekend.

The Copper Mug Pub hosts festivities starting at 5 p.m., with dinner set for 6 p.m. Roasted striploin, potatoes and vegetables are included with your meal.

The event, marking the eighth edition of the fundraiser, will also feature live and silent auctions.

Tickets are $30, if still available.

Amaranto plays at Cannery Brewing (Nov. 3)

An Argentinian duo takes the stage at Cannery Brewing on Sunday night.

Amaranto brings "fiery beats of Brazilian samba and an enchanting blend of Latin American harmonies," according to event organizers.

The show runs from 5 to 7 p.m., and there is no cover charge.
