1 dead after altercation in Penticton

Penticton RCMP are investigating after an altercation on Lakeshore Drive left one dead.

Officers were called to the scene around 2 a.m. on May 12.

Upon arrival, one person was found with critical injuries and died shortly after.

While police investigate, the public is asked to avoid the areas of Lakeshore Drive at Power Street and the skate park at Riverside Park.

Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to call Penticton RCMP.

Other media have reported on the alleged identity of the victim, citing unnamed sources. Penticton RCMP told the Western News that they will not be releasing any further information at this time.
