Penticton could soon be home to a new three-storey, 12-unit townhouse development.

City council will review a proposal on June 4, that calls for the construction of three buildings at 951 and 963 Dynes Avenue.

One building will have six units and the other two will be three-unit developments.

The three-storey structures will feature garages on the ground floor and rooftop patios.

Both Dynes Avenue properties currently contain single-detached homes.

A similar 13-unit townhouse development proposal in the area was brought to Penticton council in July 2023. Although the rezoning application was adopted, the municipal politicians denied the requested variances and development permits.

The applicant is now coming back to the table with a 12-unit plan while including additional landscaping at the sides of the property and along the Dynes Avenue frontage.

In a report to council, city officials said the changes made have addressed some of the staff and council’s previous concerns with the proposal.

A total of 12 resident parking spaces are included in the plan.
