The Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team (ALERT) is hosting its 19th annual Cookie Walk fundraiser at the Penticton Lakeside Resort on Saturday, Dec. 2, starting at 10 a.m.

ALERT is looking for bakers to bake and donate festive treats for the event. The bake sale was hugely popular last year, selling out in a couple of hours. ALERT is hoping to get more bakers on board.

The cookie sale is a good way to come and purchase delicious treats to impress your guests and co-workers during the holiday season. Bakers can contact ALERT information officer Daryl Meyers at informationofficer@alertcanada.org.

ALERT is dedicated to animal welfare through helping with evacuations, rescue and shelter of domestic animals and livestock in a disaster like wildfires. ALERT is run entirely by volunteers and all money raised goes directly to the care of animals.

This summer, ALERT took in dozens of animals and volunteered countless hours well into the night because of various wildfires, including the devastating McDougall Creek Wildfire in West Kelowna.
