It’s Thanksgiving weekend at the Penticton Speedway and that means it’s time for some championship racing.

The final RS1 Cup Series event of the year comes to the venue on Oct. 7, with NASCAR and Indy Series racers among those set to hit the track, the speedway says.

This season’s top racers in the class, Ryley Seibert, Cameron Hayley, and Trevor Noel Dowler, will all vie for the year-end title after swapping leads in each race, based on the track’s point system.

In the Challenge Series on Saturday, Bryan Wever, Elisa Alexis and Ken Mostowich are set to take on each other in a fierce competition.

Fans are also reminded that the Legend Invitational Race is also set to proceed. Local drivers will bring their accolades to the event and be joined by racers from the northern BC Legend Car Touring Series.

Gates for the event open at 4:30 p.m., with racing set to conclude at around 8:30 p.m.

“The excitement isn’t limited to the track,” a press release reads. “Families and racing enthusiasts can enjoy treats from three food trucks and indulge in s’mores and hot beverages.”

Tickets can be purchased here.
