Free transit for election day in Vernon, Revelstoke and South Okanagan

BC Transit is offering a number of free transit routes Monday, April 28, to make it easier for voters to get to the polls

Folks heading to the polls on election day Monday can make use of free transit routes in many parts of B.C., including Vernon, Revelstoke, and the South Okanagan-Similkameen. 

BC Transit and a number of local government partners are offering free transit routes on Monday, April 28, for the federal election. 

"Offering free transit helps make it easier for residents to get to the polls and cast their ballots," BC Transit said in a press release. 

In Vernon, routes 1-9 only will be free on Monday. This includes HandyDART routes. 

All Revelstoke routes, including HandyDART, will be free. 

In the South Okanagan-Similkameen, all Penticton routes will be without charge, including HandyDART, and Route 30 will be free for Summerland residents only. Additional Saturday service is being provided in Princeton. 

In all, 28 B.C. cities and regions will have free transit on Monday.
