Penticton city crews will be installing new utilities within the 700 block of Government Street overnight on Nov. 13.

Overnight construction work that involves heavy machinery has been scheduled for Penticton's Government Street.

City crews began working at the 700 block of the street on Nov. 12, and will do so again through the night of Nov. 13, to minimize traffic disruption.

Work will see the installation of new utilities in the area, with crews set to be on-site from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

"The city has notified residents within the impacted area of Government Street about the upcoming construction work, which may include saw cutting, asphalt removals, excavating, and various other construction-related heavy machinery," a press release reads.

Traffic detours will be in place during planned construction time.

Work in the area is expected to be complete by the morning of Nov. 14.
