On Jan. 14, the Penticton Musuem will continue it’s Brown Bag Lecture series with their second installment on the Warsaw Uprising of 1944.

The lecture will be presented by the museum and archives’ curator, Dennis Oomen as he delves into the history of this little-known event, which was the largest act of resistance of the Second World War.
Oomen will discuss the events that transpired after the people of Warsaw rose up against German forces occupying their country. The uprising saw some of the most uncomfortable and controversial aspects of the war during this heroic yet failed effort to restore freedom to Poland and Eastern Europe.
The lecture will take place Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 12 to 1 p.m. in the museum auditorium, 785 Main St. Guests are welcome to bring their own lunch, and there will also be coffee, tea and confections. Admission is by donation, with a suggestion of $2 for adults and $1 for children.
