Public invited to Penticton council swearing in

The new Penticton City Council will be sworn in on Tues., Nov. 6 and the public is invited.

The swearing in will take place during the inaugural meeting of council starting at 6 p.m. at the Penticton Trade and Conference Centre located at 273 Power Street.

A welcome reception will be held at the conclusion of the meeting.

“We look forward to seeing members of the community who are able to attend,”said Penticton’s corporate officer, Angie Collison.

On Oct. 20 an almost all new council was elected with only two incumbents retaining their seats.

Mayor-elect John Vassilaki replaces Andrew Jakubeit while council is rounded out by Jake Kimberley, Frank Regehr, Julius Bloomfield, Katie Robinson and incumbents Judy Sentes and Campbell Watt.
