It’s officially the ‘Season of Giving’ at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Coats for Kids Night comes to the SOEC on Wednesday, Nov. 29, when the Penticton Vees host the Trail Smoke Eaters.

RE/MAX will be on hand to accept donations of new or gently used children’s coats, snow pants, toques, gloves, and boots, in support of BGC Okanagan and the South Okanagan Women In Need Society.

Anyone who donates will be entered for a chance to win a signed Vees jersey.

Puck drop is at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday’s night of community giveback precedes another ‘Season of Giving’ event at the SOEC, as the Vees have announced that the annual Teddy and Toque Toss is set for Dec. 9.

Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used stuffed toys and to throw them onto the ice when the Vees score their first goal. The team is set to play the Salmon Arm Silverbacks that night.

Penticton’s showdown with Trail on Wednesday marks the first of five Vees contests at the SOEC before the BCHL’s holiday break.

The Vees have won 50 home games in a row, dating back to March 2022.
