Registration numbers are booming for Western Canada’s premier car show.

The 23rd annual Peach City Beach Cruise comes to Penticton from June 21 to 23, and those hoping to be part of the fun are asked to throw their names in the hat before spots are filled.

According to event organizers, VIP spots are already sold out. A total of 542 registrations have been received, as of April 5.

Registration opened in early March and will close once 800 cars are signed up.

The weekend-long event brings both classic and new vehicles from across North America to Penticton’s Lakeshore Drive.

Donna Reimann, president of the Peach City Beach Cruise, said spots on Lakeshore are filling up fast. The show covers about two kilometres of distance on the iconic Penticton street.

“We’re gearing up fast and this year, we’re going to have cars there that people have never seen before,” Reimann said. “And of course, there’s going to be lots of great entertainment in the park.”

Reimann, who has helped organize the event since its inception close to 25 years ago, said vehicles can compete across 20 different categories.

Awards will be handed out at the end of the weekend in Gyro Park.

People can register for the show here.
