UPDATE: Penticton Community Centre reopens after overnight break-in

UPDATE: 3:55 p.m.

The Penticton Community Centre has re-opened, city officials say.

The building was closed on Saturday morning following an overnight break-in.

“Regular programming has resumed, thank you for your patience during this time,” representatives from the city said.

ORIGINAL: 9:30 a.m.

The Penticton Community Centre is closed until further notice after it was broken into overnight.

City officials issued a press release Saturday morning, Dec. 2, saying there is no current timeline for when the centre could re-open.

It is unknown how the damages are or if anything was stolen from the building. No further details were shared.

Officials added that updates will be provided throughout the day on the city’s recreation department Facebook page.

The building is located at 325 Power Street.
