Penticton’s Ellis Creek Dog Park will remain closed until Feb. 23.

A Penticton dog park will be closed until Feb. 23, as city crews work to complete upgrades ahead of schedule.

The Ellis Creek Dog Park at 100 Industrial Place is currently closed for prep work. In the coming weeks, crews will add wood fiber surfacing and pour the concrete for a new accessible pathway.

“After this work is completed, the park may need to be temporarily closed intermittently to make the finishing touches, including planting trees and installing a new shade structure,” the city says.

Other upgrades to the park include adding a dog activity area.

The Ellis Creek location is one of six dog parks in the city set to receive enhancements this year, according to the city.
