West Kelowna Warriors' Elias Callgren celebrates after scoring the overtime-winner on Sept. 13, at Royal LePage Place against the Penticton Vees.

Elias Callgren scored at 1:53 of overtime and the West Kelowna Warriors came back to beat the Penticton Vees 4-3 in BCHL pre-season action on Friday, Sept. 13, at Royal LePage Place.

Callgren's game-winner, his second of the pre-season, came after Warriors winger Callum Hughes beat Vees netminder Andrew Ness late in the third period to tie the game and force three-on-three overtime.

Michael Fisher, Luke Posthumus, and Conyr Hellyer scored for Penticton, which wraps up its pre-season on Sept. 14, at home against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

Ness made 28 saves in a little more than 60 minutes of work.

His counterpart, West Kelowna goaltender Dawson Labre stopped 27 shots.

Along with Hughes and Callgren, Frankie D'Ancona and Caden Kemkaran-Humble found the back of the net for the Warriors. The Central Okanagan squad hosts Salmon Arm for its final pre-season showdown on Sunday.

The BCHL regular season begins Sept. 20.

While West Kelowna visits Cranbrook, the Vees will be on the road in Alberta to battle one of the five new BCHL teams, the Spruce Grove Saints
