A Penticton skating club cleaned up last weekend at the Okanagan Region Skating Championships.

Glengarry Skating Club sent 18 skaters to compete in 26 events over the weekend in Salmon Arm. Each skater earned at least one medal for the Penticton Skating Club.

In total, the team made up of skaters ranging in age from seven to 17 finished with 12 gold, seven silver and five bronze medals.

Coach Trevor Buttenham said he was ecstatic with the results.

“This competition turned out [with some] really, really good results for us. The kids were well put together for this one,” Buttenham said.

“I think everyone was really focused and peaked at just right the right time.”

The club will now shift it’s focus to the provincial championships at the StarSkate Final next month in Kelowna. Glengarry Skating will be sending 20 skaters to compete in 25 events March 6 to 8 at the Capital News Centre in Kelowna.
