Penticton Vees forward Zack Stringer will kick off his post-BCHL career in Ontario.

Stringer, 20, has committed to Brock University for the 2024-2025 season.

The Lethbridge, Alta. product joined the Vees in October after spending parts of five seasons in the Western Hockey League.

Stringer has posted 13 points in 28 games with Penticton in 2023-2024.

“Zack has come in and been an outstanding teammate on and off the ice,” said Fred Harbinson, the Vees’ president, general manager and head coach. “I am so happy that he was able to secure an opportunity to play college hockey and will be a great addition to the Brock program.”

Brock University is located in St. Catherines, Ont., about 20 kilometres northwest of Niagara Falls.

The school’s men’s hockey team, the Badgers, plays in the Ontario University Athletics Conference (OUA) in U SPORTS, the governing body for university athletics in Canada.

“I’m very excited to be continuing my hockey career at Brock University next season. Thank you to my family, coaches, and teammates for all their support,” Stringer said.

Stringer and the Vees return to the ice Friday, Feb. 10, when they host the Prince George Spruce Kings at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
