“Penticton is a city in transition. This transition is being experienced in the entire Okanagan. With this change there are challenges to maintain the character and soul of the city, at the same time as facilitating change that is beneficial to the city,” said Bloomfield in his release. “These challenges should be handled by a city council that has clear thinking and pays attention to the needs of all the citizens.”

Bloomfield said that as a city councillor, he will advocate for building an infrastructure that includes provisions for green energy generation, along with overall city improvements.

“I will support thoughtful upgrading of the city centre and all public facilities to ensure we have first-class place to live and enjoy,” wrote Bloomfield. “Most of all I will look for ways to enhance community involvement in engaging with city council to keep our streets safe and make sure that the little details are taken care of.”

Bloomfield has been a Penticton realtor for 26 years. Previously he has been a part owner of a real estate company, a former president of the Downtown Penticton Association and has been involved in the promotion of urban agriculture and sustainable energy.
