All evacuation alerts prompted by the Bush Creek East wildfire in the Columbia Shuswap Regional District have been rescinded.

Notice of the alerts being downgraded to “all clear” was issued by the Shuswap Emergency Program (SEP) on Tuesday morning, Sept. 26, though SEP’s Emergency Mapping Dashboard had alert areas listed as all clear as of Sept. 25.

The Thompson Nicola Regional District downgraded its remaining evacuation alerts in the vicinity of the Bush Creek East blaze to all clear on Sept. 25. The alerts included approximately 124 properties.

Earlier Monday, the BC Wildfire Service changed the status of the wildfire’s from “out of control” to “being held.”

Despite the lifting of evacuation alerts, there were still individual properties within the CSRD, 190 as of Sept. 26, under evacuation order. This was due to fire damage making structures unsafe to enter. These properties are identified on the Shuswap Emergency Mapping Dashboard.
