Both new and vintage cars will line Rotary Park on Saturday for the 16th annual Penticton Rotary Wheels Charity Car Show.

The all-day event is being put on by Penticton Okanagan Rotary Club from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bob Coombs, employment counsellor for Penticton Rotary Club, has been involved in the organizing of the car show for the past 10 years, and watched it go from Okanagan Lake Park to Rotary Park three years ago where it would have room to grow.

“We have received excellent support from local businesses with financial donations, prizes and services to help us hold the car show. Individual car owners are also very important to our success as we would not have a show without them taking the time to come out and display their vehicles, and of course the support of the public in attending our event is also critical to our success,” said Coombs, who is anticipating to raise about $5,000 this year.

Financial proceeds will go to activities and projects in which the Rotary Club supports, such as the International Student Exchange program, the Rotary Youth Leadership Award and Okanagan College scholarships. There will be a $2 admission fee, which allows access to view the cars, free entertainment and access to food and automotive accessory vendors. For more information visit www.pentictonrotary.com.
