The Anarchist Mountain Fire Department (AMFD) has a new Fire Chief.
The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen announced Urs Grob has accepted the position on Friday.
A resident of the area and an active member of the AMFD for six years, Grob is an experienced Fire Officer who has held positions of Lieutenant, Training Officer and Acting Fire Chief in the department.
“Mr. Grob is a dedicated fire officer who is passionate about training to do the job right. We wish Mr. Grob success in his new role as Fire Chief with AMFD,” Mark Pendergraft, RDOS Chair, said in a release.
The RDOS also extended thanks to Rob Burke who served as Fire Chief for the department over the last four years, noting that under his leadership the AMFD updated the firefighter training program, upgraded essential equipment and implemented a medical first responder program.
The AMFD is one of seven RDOS operated fire departments involving over 150 community members that manage and operate within the district.
