Another bin win for Penticton’s Greyback Construction

Greyback wins a second consecutive bin race

Bin there, won that.

For the second year in a row the Greyback Construction Hammerheads emerged victorious in the annual Downtown Penticton Association Peach Bin Races on Main Street which was part of the first day fun events for the Penticton Peach Festival.

Rival teams in their decorated bins went head to head in the closed off section of the 100-block of Main Street with Greyback winning the final race against the BP Wood Lumber Rumblers. The Rumblers ran into trouble on the first leg of the race heading off track and allowing their competition to wheel their way to victory.

The Rumblers knocked off the first time Penticton Fire Department entry which ran into trouble when one of its wheels heated up and fell off. Firefighters initially claimed “sabotage” however later admitted “pilot weight” may have actually be a contributing factor to the malfunction.
