The staff of Baldy Mountain Resort are furious after multiple incidents of snowmobilers riding through the resort’s trails and hills for skiing and snowboarding.

In a post on their official Facebook page, the resort called out the snowmobilers for their unsafe actions, and asked for assistance in identifying the people responsible.

According to Baldy, the snowmobilers had run down one of the ski runs on Feb. 27 while there were WorkSafe BC Inspectors on the hill at the time, who brought the issue up with the resort.

Following that, the snowmobilers damaged several trails on March 2 and 3.

“We will not let this continue. We have stressed several times the seriousness of unauthorized motorized vehicles trespassing on our foot trails and on hill trails and the dangers of doing so are not something we take lightly,” reads the post. “We don’t care that you have done this for 30 years. Rules and regulations change, it’s time you changed with them. There are hectares of forestry trails you can use, please use them, not private property trails.”

The Resort has announced that any rentals or Bed and Breakfasts that have been “overlooking their guests use of snowmobiles” will lose any support from the resort, including removal from their website and losing the resorts endorsement for their properties.
