Bikes worth over $10,000 stolen

Police are investigating the theft of two bicycles in separate incidents Sept. 18.

One of the thefts was a S-Works Epic specialized mountain bike valued at $10,000 that was taken from the roof rack of a vehicle parked overnight on Wiltse Boulevard.

The black and red portions of the bike are raw carbon fibre and the serial number was not provided. According to Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth, serial numbers on carbon fibre are easier to erase.

The other theft involved a 21-speed Crosstrail specialized mountain bike which was taken overnight from the Lakeside Resort.

The exact value was not available however the brand ranges from hundreds to thousands of dollars.

The serial number for that bike is WSBC60B201196J.
