Blasting work on Highway 97 in Summerland is scheduled for Thursday, June 22 from 1 to 2 p.m.
The update is part of the slope mitigation at the highway, following slides in the area.
The initial blast has been scheduled for 1 p.m.

Air bag and scaling have been used to bring down slope material at the area, but blasting is needed to bring down larger material.
Around 4,000 cubic metres of unstable material needs to be brought down from the slope. A retaining wall is being constructed in the slide area.
Single lane alternating traffic will continue through the site and highway users can expect 20-minute delays each day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
On the evening of May 15, a slide on Highway 97 at the bottom of Summerland Hill blocked traffic. The slide covered a 40-metre section of the highway, shutting down traffic.
It was in the same area as two earlier slides, which occurred in late April.
Crews have been working to clear the area and stabilize the bluffs.
