Book exchange at Children's Festival

In conjunction with the Children's Festival, Literacy Now invites young readers to trade in the books they have read for new books to read.

Literacy Now South Okanagan-Similkameen wants to replace any books that are collecting dust on children’s bookshelves.

The organization will host a book exchange at the  Okanagan Children’s Festival, May 22-24 at Okanagan Lake Park. “We have a good stockpile of books to start off with,” said outreach coordinator Joan Chambers in a press release. “Children can bring a book or two and trade for something new to read.”

The popular Human Boggle word game will be back again this year, offering teams and families a chance to have fun with words.

Unplug and Play..is our theme this year and we welcome your ideas on how you Unplug on our thoughts board.

Literacy Now will also have a display providing information about literacy services for everyone, from babies to seniors. “It’s our fifth time participating, we are pleased to be able to bring a literacy component to the Children’s Festival," said Chambers.
