Summerland councillor Toni Boot announced she will be declaring her candidacy for Mayor of Summerland in the upcoming civic election in October 2018.
In a news release, sent out on Monday evening, Boot said she will make a statement at 9:30 a.m. at the Summerland Museum on Tuesday morning.
In 2016, Boot put her name forward as a candidate for the B.C. NDP nomination for the Penticton riding.

She said her decision to run in provincial politics was inspired, in part, by the frustration she felt during debate around closing Trout Creek Elementary School.
