The speed limit from Jermyn Street north to the Lakeside is already a 30 kilometre per hour zone. I work in the 500 block and sit on the transportation board.
There are a lot better ways to slow traffic down on main than two lanes. Raised crosswalks for starters. We need to promote more leg power and less auto. What is the reason for wider sidewalks when we are still promoting driving downtown?
If it is two lanes then add protected cycling and scooter lanes. I do not agree with this change.
