Illness has forced country singer-songwriter Chris Young to cancel his Aug. 15 performance in Penticton

Singer-songwriter Chris Young is in a Denver area hospital with a leg infection, listed in stable condition. His headlining show on Aug. 14 in Kalispell, MT has been cancelled, as has his performance on Brad Paisley’s Beat This Summer tour on Aug. 15 at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton and on Aug. 16 in Mission, B.C.

To make up for the missing act, Paisley will be performing an extended set at the SOEC concert. Kirsten Kelly will open the show for Paisley as planned.

“I’m so sorry to disappoint the fans but I didn’t even know I was sick,” said Young, who is expected to resume touring in Redding, CA on Aug. 21.

“One minute I was fine then suddenly I’m being rushed to the hospital,” he continued. “I look forward to being up and around and back on the road.”

While the origin of the infection is unknown, Young will remain in the hospital for at least the next  24 hours. Young was en route to Kalispell, MT when the symptoms set in and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Chris Young’s new single, Aw Naw is climbing the country singles charts and is the first single from his forthcoming album, A.M., which will be released Sept. 17 on RCA Records.
