The City of Penticton will be closing the community centre’s fitness room as a result of the recent health restrictions.

The changes start at 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 22 and run through Jan. 18.

The building’s fitness centre will be closed, however, those who hold valid passes will receive an extension to their pass equal to the duration of the closure.

Amid the closure of the fitness centre, all land-based classes are suspended.

The city released a statement on Wednesday morning, saying that people who are registered in various classes at the centre will be contacted. Others who will be affected by the new restrictions will also be contacted by the city.

As part of the provincial government’s newest measures, all gyms will be closed until Jan. 18.
