The B.C. Conservation Officer Service is investigation allegations that a Penticton-area resident had possibly shot a deer with a pellet gun.

Const. James Grandy with Penticton RCMP said police responded to the call, but “the responding member was unable to confirm whether this actually occurred.”

“The officer dispatched the deer, as it was suffering from a possible infection.”

B.C. Conservation Officer Service was notified, Grandy said, and later attended the scene.

No charges have been laid in the matter.

The B.C. Conservation Officer Service has not yet responded to a request for comment.
