Police tracked down and arrested two men in connection with the theft of a vehicle.

Travis Overton, 33, is facing one count of theft of a motor vehicle and one count of posession of stolen property under $5,000.

Around 9:30 a.m. on the morning of April 12 a 1986 Mazda 626 was stolen from a Penticton residence on Steward Place. Police said the vehicle was stolen previously and was recovered in Summerland.

Later that day the vehicle was spotted driving on Commercial Way. Members of the Penticton RCMP’s Targeted Enforcement Unit were able to identify the driver. The vehicle was located and blocked in by police where the two male occupants were arrested.

Overton appeared in Penticton Provincial Court on April 24, where the matter was adjourned by consent. He is scheduled to appear in court again on April 26 to consult legal counsel.
