Police are urging caution to local businesses after multiple counterfeit American $50 bills were reported in downtown Penticton.

Penticton RCMP said that a number of suspects have been seen on video surveillance and charges are being pursued.

One female suspect called police to let them know she was in Alberta, however police said they have her on surveillance video.

“Her call to Police was a poor effort to avoid detection,” said Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth with the Penticton RCMP.
