A couple were startled awake while sleeping in a moving van by a man claiming he had a gun and demanding their valuables.

The pair were parked on Old Kaleden Road on Aug. 14 when they were woken up by a man banging on their window around 11:30 p.m. Const. James Grandy said the pair handed over their credit cards when the man told them he had a gun. He then smashed their window and punctured two tires before leaving the area.

The vehicle occupants sought help at a nearby residence where they called police.

The suspect is described as having a dark complexion, brown eyes, 5’10, wearing a balaclava and may have had an accent. The suspect was driving a full-sized black coloured truck.
