Penticton Fire Rescue was called to a pair of fires a half hour apart Wednesday morning.
The first was a grease fire in a deep fryer at Ricky’s Restaurant at Cherry Lane Shopping Centre at about 7:25 a.m. which was quickly extinguished by arriving crews.
According to City of Penticton communications officer Tina Lee there appeared to have been a malfunction with the automatic sprinkler system.
Fire inspector Ken Barbour was on scene afterwards.
The second call came in just after 8 a.m. with the report of a deck fire which had spread to the structure at #16 Dauphin Mobile Home Park.
All the occupants were out of the building although the B.C. Ambulance Service was called and attended to one person. The type and seriousness of the injuries were not available.
Emergency Social Services also attended to assist with temporary accommodations for those displaced.
There was no estimate of damage in either fire.
