The City of Penticton said the dog that attacked a woman in her own home on Valentine’s Day was euthanized.

Quick action by Penticton RCMP officers helped a 27-year-old woman escape from a Rottweiler dog attack. The woman, who suffered injuries to arm, was trapped in an upstairs room of her Birch Street home before Mounties helped her escape through a window.

Mark Parker, city communications officer, said dog control attended the scene but were not asked to assist RCMP to remove the dog from the premises at that time.

On Feb. 15, the dog owner contacted dog control and voluntarily surrendered the dog to be euthanized.
