Police are looking for a man claiming to be a door-to-door gold salesman, following a theft in Hedley.

The incident occurred May 20 and a quantity of old and unique bills was stolen, said Corporal Chad Parsons.

“A man came to the door of a Hedley residence, knocked on the door and when it was answered the male asked the occupant if he was interested in buying any gold. He said that he wasn’t and the male asked if he could use the bathroom. When he left he ended up taking some money.”

Parsons said the man may be associated with a White Chrysler 300 with Ontario plates.

The currency stolen included $20, $50 and $100 bills from the 1930’s.

Police are asking for anyone with information, or who may have had an experience with a traveling gold salesmen, to call them at 250-295-6911.
