The nights are going to get noisier for some residents who live near the intersection of Wade Avenue and Main Street.

Starting Sun., March 25 downtown water main upgrade and sewer replacement work will be completed during night hours between 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

There will be no work on March 30, but night work will start up again April 1 and go till April 5 depending on schedules.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding, this night time work will help with the project and will allow the work to be done outside of regular work times for less inconvenience to your business as well will not interrupt the bus transit service at Wade Ave.,” stated a press release from the Downtown Penticton Association.

The release noted work will be noisy and there will be limited vehicle access from Padmore to Wade Avenue on those days.

There will be one way open access at Wade Avenue depending on where crews are working.

It’s advised people not park on the 400 block after 6 p.m. so crews can do their jobs. There will be vibration, dust and a lot of noise.

Buses will run through Wade/Main intersection until 10:30 p.m. each night.

If you have any questions about the work contact the Downtown Penticton Association at 250-490-8540.
