The town of Osoyoos is doing dust suppression between May 10 to 14, with a warning for pets to keep off the product for the first day.

The operational services department has contracted Premium Canada to perform dust control in various areas throughout town. They will be applying the dust suppression product at the following approximate locations:

•Near the baseball diamonds and tennis courts at 62nd Avenue

•Kingfisher drive alley

•Landfill entrance

•78th Avenue back alley

Premium Canada has extensive experience and success in controlling dust on road surfaces, said town staff. Their dust control products are certified environmentally safe but can be a danger for pets.

Please keep pets off the dust suppression product for at least six hours once applied. Direct contact with product may cause mild irritation on skin and could even burn.

The product being used is calcium chloride/magnesium.
