Update 5:30 p.m.:

The fire at a mobile home located on Paris Street in Penticton has been largely extinguished, with firefighters continuing to mop up hot spots.

According to Acting-Captain Curtis Gibbons, the fire was smoldering when the Penticton Fire Department arrived, and the homeowners had put water on the fire from the outside of the home.

“Everybody got out, nobody was injured, maybe a little of smoke inhalation,” said Gibbons.

The fire was under the unit, and had spread up the side, leading to firefighters removing the siding and some insulation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and whether the home is livable has yet to be determined.
