The heat is proving too much for many businesses and events. The Naramata Farmers’ Market announced that it has cancelled today’s market due to the extreme heat.

In the interest of the health and safety of vendors and shoppers, the organizers have made the decision to cancel this week’s Naramata Farmers Market, the NaramataSlow Facebook post said.

The market will be back next Wednesday, July 7th for all your local and fresh shopping needs. The market goes from 4 to 7 p.m. each Wednesday.

The heat dome remains over the Okanagan, with scorching temperatures reaching 40 C on Tuesday.

The heat was so intense, the pavement across Penticton has started to heave and crack.
