Medical issues may have been a factor in a single-vehicle accident Saturday about 1:50 p.m. in Okanagan Falls in which the 73-year-old driver from that community died.

According to Cpl. Wrigglesworth, witnesses reported the 1993 Dodge Caravan was northbound on Willow Avenue before coming to a stop at the intersection of Ninth Avenue (Highway 97). It then sped across the highway into a field, striking a modular home and knocking it off its foundation.

BC Ambulance Service and Okanagan Falls Volunteer Fire Department crews attended and the man was rushed to Penticton Regional Hospital where he later died.

Penticton RCMP and the South Okanagan Traffic Services officers attended.
