A white Dodge Ram is alleged to have struck a fire hydrant on Skaha Lake Road on Friday afternoon causing a geyser of water to spew out into the street and nearby parking lot.

People at the scene said they didn't witness the collision with the fire hydrant in front of Hometown Furniture, but did see the truck drive at a high rate of speed south towards Skaha Lake. One man said the front passenger tire was barely hanging onto the rim.

RCMP are investigating the matter and located a parked white Dodge Ram truck with the front passenger tire blown out near Skaha Lake tennis courts shortly after the incident took place.

More on this to come.
