Penticton and BC Transit are offering free public transit to the polls on Nov. 15.

Penticton and BC Transit are offering free public transit to the polls on Nov. 15. Penticton voters can hop on any regular route or book a HandyDart ride at no charge providing they are going to the polls.

General voting day is Nov. 15 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, 273 Power St.

If you are not already on the list of electors, you may register at time of voting, by completing the application form including your date of birth or the last six digits of your social insurance number as well as providing two pieces of identification (at least one with a signature) to prove both residency and identity. Picture identification is not necessary.

Voters will also be required to declare they are 18 years of age or older; a canadian citizen; a resident of B.C. for at least six months and a resident of the City of Penticton for at least 30 days.

Acceptable forms of identification include: B.C. CareCard; B.C. Driver’s Licence; B.C. ID card; Canadian citizenship card; credit or debit card if a name is embossed on the card; City of Penticton property tax notice; Ministry of Employment and Income Assistance request for continued assistance form EIA0081; social insurance number card; city utility bill.
