Head on collision on Highway 97

Several people were transported to hospital after a head-on collision in Osoyoos Tuesday evening

Several people were transported to hospital after a head-on collision Tuesday evening on Highway 97 in Osoyoos.

Cpl. Ryan McLeod said a gold coloured Pontiac Grand Am and a black Chevrolet truck met head on, while a Smart Car was also caught up into the collision.

Three people were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries ranging from moderate to serious. A detour around the highway was set up for three hours while RCMP investigated the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Witnesses are asked to contact South Okanagan Traffic Services at 250-499-2250.
